0020201 The Baptism of Jesus – Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-23, A.D. 25 – 26 The River Jordan possibly near Bethany across the Jordan in Judea
And now then it happened in those days, when all the people were baptized, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee to the Jordan to John to be baptized by him. But John tried to hinder him saying, “I have need to be baptized by You, and You come to me?”. But Jesus answered and said to him, “Allow it now for this is the right way for us to fulfill all righteousness;” then he allowed Him and Jesus was also baptized in the Jordan by John.
Now having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water, and coming up out the water, after praying, He saw and beheld the heavens opening up to Him, tearing open, and He saw the Holy Spirit of God descending in a bodily form as a dove and coming upon Him. And indeed, a voice came out of the heavens saying, “You are my beloved Son; in You I am well pleased. This is my beloved Son in whom I was well pleased.”
